Platinum-Rhodium Thermocouple Temperature Transmitter
Temperature MetersOverview
The WR series industrial platinum-rhodium thermocouple, also called noble metal thermocouple, is a circuit formed by joining two conductors of different compositions at both ends. When the temperatures of the two junctions are different, a thermal current will be generated in the circuit. If there is a temperature difference between the working end and the reference end of the platinum-rhodium thermocouple, the display instrument will indicate the temperature value corresponding to the thermoelectric potential generated by the thermocouple. The thermoelectric potential of the platinum-rhodium thermocouple increases with the rise of the temperature at the measuring end, and its magnitude is only related to the thermocouple material and the temperatures at both ends, rather than the length and diameter of the thermal electrodes. The external shapes of various platinum-rhodium thermocouples are often quite different according to requirements, but their basic structures are roughly the same, usually consisting of main components such as thermal electrodes, insulating sleeve protection tubes and junction boxes. As a temperature measurement sensor, the platinum-rhodium thermocouple is usually used in conjunction with temperature transmitters, regulators and display instruments to form a process control system, which is used to directly measure or control the temperature of fluid, steam, gas media and solid surfaces within the range of 0–1800℃ in various production processes.
Applications
The platinum-rhodium thermocouple is suitable for high-temperature occasions in various production processes, and is widely used for temperature measurement in powder metallurgy, sintering bright furnaces, vacuum furnaces, smelting furnaces, glass production, steelmaking furnaces, ceramics and industrial salt bath furnaces.
